Criminal activity in schools is as commonplace as recess and report cards. Crimes we see on the news each evening are also happening in our schools every day. Gangs, bullying, drugs, and other dangerous threats are found in elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools around the country. Students who are not aware of the dangers and prepared to deal with them are much more likely to engage in these criminal behaviors.
RUN FOR COVER is a school assembly program specifically designed to educate students (and staff) about the dangers of drugs and alcohol, gangs, sex, the internet, and violence. Through the use of powerful personal stories, cold-hard facts, and appropriate humor, this motivational presentation can equip your school with the cost-effective solutions it needs to help students face these challenges.
THE ABC'S OF THE 21ST CENTURY
Each year, the methods for using drugs becomes more complex. Gangs continue to grow in membership, resort to violence often, and are almost certainly present in your community. In order to be successful in your efforts to deal with these realities, you must be aware of the constantly evolving trends. The marijuana of today is not the marijuana of the 1960's. Similarly, the methamphetamine of 2009 is not the methamphetamine of 2008. When it comes to drugs and gangs, nothing stays the same for very long.
THE ABC'S OF THE 21ST CENTURY is a highly-respected program that addresses these issues in detail and focuses on the unique problems in your area. City governments, school districts, police departments, and mental health professionals frequently attend these courses on an annual basis to make sure they have the latest information. BULLYING & AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR IN CHILDREN
Bullying is no longer an issue that can be easily dismissed. Aggressive behavior by school-aged children leads to teaching environments that are unsafe, contributes to low test scores, and increases crime rates. Are you aware of the most common mistakes that are made when trying to curb aggressive behavior in children? Do you have a policy in place that can adapt to these growing trends? Do you know where to begin?
BULLYING AND AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR IN CHILDREN is a comprehensive course designed to help you address the problems of bullying and aggressive behavior in children. In a national environment where 1 out of every 5 students won't use the bathroom because they are afraid of bullying, this class is a necessity for those responsible for safeguarding the youth of this generation. GANGS AND GANG-RELATED BEHAVIOR
Do you think that gangs don't affect you? Think again. In 2000, there were more than 24,500 active gangs in the United States alone. Gang members are black and white, young and old, rich and poor, male and female. You can find them in metropolitan cities with populations in the millions, or rural communities with only a few hundred inhabitants. Gangs grow in numbers every year as their participation in criminal activity becomes more widespread and complex. Gangs and gang-related behavior is a pandemic that must be addressed.
GANGS AND GANG-RELATED BEHAVIOR is a shockingly honest appraisal of the situation and is uniquely tailored to address gang issues particular to your region. This class will teach you about the addictive behaviors related to gangs, namely drugs, violence, and crime. By the end of this session, you will be able to recognize the signs of potential gang activity in your family, neighborhood, school, and community. More importantly, you will learn what steps you need to take to fight the problems associated with gangs.
STUDENTS HELPING STUDENTS
Students in today's world face challenges much more complex and far more dangerous than those of only a generation ago. And yet, most attempts to help students fall short of their objectives for one reason. With all of the fact-based curriculum, well thought-out policies, and annual teacher trainings, students still lack the support of those within their own peer groups.
STUDENTS HELPING STUDENTS is an impressive training program designed specifically to provide students with the ability to help each other. When kids help other kids, they take ownership of their challenges and create a safe environment. Because they are working within their own peer groups, they also have a better chance of changing behavior than even the most well-meaning adults. This course focuses on issues such as the role of inclusion, the dangers of exclusion, safety in numbers, and much more.
